Meet Claire

My journey to coaching wasn’t linear, as is true for many worthwhile ventures. I certainly didn’t predict this career for myself while growing up, or even when I was in college. In fact, coaching wasn’t really a “thing” back then, outside of sports. But I can confirm, without hesitation, that this is what I am meant to be doing. Coaching allows me to share in other folks’ exhilarating moments of release from the shackles of expectation, and nothing beats that!

I left Vancouver, BC, in 1989 to study Psychology and Women’s Studies at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, USA. When I graduated college in 1993, I wanted to see the world. so I moved to Sydney, Australia. After working and studying further, I qualified and began my practice as a health psychologist in 1999. I worked exclusively with people who had sustained illness or injury including burnout, supporting their recovery and adjustment to their new reality, and then facilitating their return to safe and durable work. When I returned to Vancouver in 2004, I continued my vocational focus in rehabilitation work as a Registered Rehabilitation Professional and a member of the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals. I served on the BC and National Boards of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada, and have had the privilege of assisting hundreds of clients attain their work-related goals.

While my professional training and clinical skills are solid, I also bring lived experience to the work that I do. I experienced work-related burnout in 2016, and had to apply what I know helps others in my own life. It was a humbling experience, and many clients have told me that what I share about my own successful recovery is really helpful and keeps things real.

Personal and professional growth has always been important to me, so in 2018 I became a certified Martha Beck Wayfinder/Lifecoach. Applying the skills I learned to my own life and work, I expanded my practice and began offering career coaching to anyone wanting to experience career satisfaction by pursuing work that is truly a best-fit.

Claire is so supportive, considerate and authentic. Without her support, I don't know how I would have found the right path to move from my previous circumstances with a peaceful transition into what I am doing now.
